Rewards for Saving Money

Posted by on Nov 11, 2011 in Blog | Comments Off

SaveUp ScreenshotYou get rewards for spending money with your credit card so why not get rewards for saving money as well. Thats what a new website called SaveUp does. SaveUp rewards you for saving money and paying off your credit card. For every $1 you put into your savings account or use to pay off your credit card, SaveUp will reward you a point. You can use those points to enter drawings or instant winning games for things like the Amazon Kindle Fire, a $5,000 Apple gift card, Cars, Trips around the world, scholarships, or even $2,000,000.000. The drawings or instant winning games are much like playing the lottery, except the tickets are free and some of the winnings are instant.

The only bad thing that I can find with SaveUp is that the linking of your savings or credit card accounts can cause some problems, especially if you have a credit card and a savings account with the same institution. You are also limited to three plays a day regardless of the actual amount of points that you have. You can get three extra plays a day if you get 15 people to sign up, but thats going to be hard to do for most people.

SaveUp is still fairly new but it will be interesting to see where it heads. For all of its problems, its still nice to try your luck at winning things even if you can only play three times a day.

A basic look at how to protect your privacy online

With the increase in social networking, online privacy has gotten to a point where you can quickly and easily find anything on any anyone. Besides Google, you can use the websites like Pipl and 123People to search for information any one, mostly for free. This information can include anything from birthrates, addresses, and phone numbers to more personal information like social security numbers and financial records. The information on the web about yourself is not necessarily a bad thing as long as you know want information is on the web and can control the information that people see. Ironically, not having any information about yourself on the web is the same as having slightly negative information on the web. All of this can affect if you get a job, what people think about you, and how hard it is for someone to steal your identity.

Here are a few things you can easily do to manage the information on the web about yourself:

1) Regularly search for yourself on Google and websites like Pipl and 123People to see if there is any negative information about you and if there is, try to get it removed.

2) Find websites you have signed up for with public profiles and delete those that you do not use anymore.

3) Have a website about yourself like a blog, portfolio, or personal website. A good one to use is [Coming Soon] , its free and has a lot of options.

4) Only post or write stuff online that you want to be publicly seen and would not mind showing when applying for a job.

5) Use Reputation.com to track and monitor your reputation but remove negative articles yourself by simply sending the owner of the website an email. You can get 15% off by clicking here.
